Semen Retention
How I got
started.
When
I reached the age of about 38, I noticed that I sometimes felt a little
drained after ejaculation. This was particularly the case if the orgasm
was mediocre. A real mind blower was ok. Also, the problem was more
acute if I ejaculated more than 3 times a week.
So I started deliberately not cumming every time I had sex. The problem soon diminished when I used this technique. Then I met someone called Tusga on another forum, who said he had been practicing semen retention for 10 years. I jumped at the chance to cross-question him and learn all I could.
I started cumming only every 2 weeks, despite finding myself having sex maybe 4-5 times a week. This went on to 3 weeks, and I am now up to cumming once per month. Occasionally there are accidental cummings! But I just reset the clock, and start again.
A lot of people ask me: "how can you give up orgasms"? My simple answer is that although I have given up the blinding light of ejaculation, I am enjoying the ever-brightening light of sex itself. After not cumming for say 3 weeks, every thrust feels luxurious. If sex and thrusting are the journey, orgasm for most people would represent the destination. I have simply gotten into the habit of forgetting about the destination, and enjoying the journey more.
The other benefit of non ejaculation is that there is no refractory period after sex, so I can perform on demand all day long.
Kegels
I
also practise Kegel exercises. I don't believe men should attempt semen
retention without them, as the PC/BC muscles may not get any exercise.
These are the same exercises women are given to tone the Pelvic Floor. What is not generally well known is that they are a good thing for both sexes. The story goes that when the good doctor Kegel gave them out for women who had gynaecological problems, the women reported that not only did their health improve, but they started having more frequent and better orgasms.
The muscle group that men have is not quite the same as in women, but it can be said to be equivalent. For reasons that I do not fully understand, men who practice them gain better erections. The method usually given to isolate and gain control of these muscles is to pee, and then try to stop and start the flow of urine. However, for men there is another way - standing naked, a man who is flaccid or semi erect should be able to make his penis twitch once he contracts the right muscles.
Having found the right muscles, he should start easy - 25 contractions, 3 times a week. Then build up to 50, 3 times a week. This exercise is a bit fatiguing, so it should not be done just before sex - that would be like trying to run up the stairs after running round the park! DO NOT over do this exercise, it is powerful.
One way of noting improvements is by monitoring nocturnal erections and
"morning wood" - waking up with an erection.
A
lot of older men find they lose morning wood as they get older. Men
who practice this exercise usually get it back. For some reason, nature
has decreed that frequent erections are good for men. And possibly good
for women too.
Of course anyone who has had surgery should consult their doctor before doing any sort of exercise.
How to do it.
There
are different ways of going about semen retention. Some are very
difficult to master. For instance, it is possible for a man to have an
orgasm without ejaculating. This is because although orgasm and
ejaculation occur together, they can be separated. However this takes a
lot of training and discipline for most men to achieve. Also, there
is still a slight diminuition of energy after a "dry orgasm", which
makes it not really all that interesting to me.
The method I use is simply to monitor my arousal level, and slow down whenever I am approaching orgasm. As the immanence wears off, I can speed up again. Sometimes just a slight change of position is all that's needed to ward off the impending reflex to cum. Another thing that really helps is to breath hard and pant - just like a woman in labour!
In fact vocalizing during sex seems to have the bizarre effect of making it feel wilder and more exciting, while at the same time allowing more pleasure to be withstood without triggering ejaculation.© MT
