marriage satsang

Welcome to Marriage Satsang

Many people struggle with their relationships. I believe that what is needed is not necessarily years of counselling or therapy, but simple reusable skills which can produce a dramatic improvement in the relationship for both partners. The site is about the nature of relationships and marriage. While I don't  cover everything, I try to focus on themes that are universally relevant and that I feel will be of benefit to my readers.

In the articles section of this website, I discuss some of  the most useful strategies I have discovered during nearly 20 years of marriage.

Why Marriage Satsang?
A satsang is a group that sits together with the purpose of entering into life's inner truths. Usually there is a facilitator who leads the group and keeps it focused.

From Wikipedia

Satsang (Sanskrit sat = true, sanga = company) describes in Indian philosophy (1) the company of the "highest truth,"(3) company with an assembly of persons who listen to, talk about, and assimilate the truth.

Sat is often rendered as 'being'. Therefore we can say that during satsang, we are given the opportunity to leave our individuality to one side and delve into oneness with the group. For me, some of the biggest breakthroughs in my marriage came when I started joining up with other people online through forums and emails, in order to exchange ideas about marriage and relationships. I soon discovered that many people go through almost identical situations, and that by discussing their issues with the wider online community, they could make rapid progress without the need for experts.
